Jubilee Show H.B.C. 17 & 18 May 2007 PDF Print E-mail

H.B.C. Jubilee Centennial Show 1907 – 2007.

On 17 May 2007 we cheerfully went to Vught, near Den Bosch to enjoy two beautiful days at the Maurick Castle.

We didn’t know then what the two following days would bring us, but the result was astonishing.

Fernando du Sourire Doux became Reserve Best Male out of more than 400 French Bulldogs that were entered.  A superb achievement.  He was the only Dutch dog with such high results.  He may be of Belgian origin, but his passport is really Dutch.  He doesn’t have to be sent back to his country of origin, although we wouldn’t really mind.  This French Bulldog, owned by Yolanda and Hijmen Schilperoort from Oosterhout, never did a show.  This was his first performance.  He had never entered a ring.  Truly unique, he beat his litter brother Frederic, who by the way achieved an excellent qualification in the last round of the preselection.  Furthermore it has to be said that Fernando was magnificently shown by Tineke Lange from Canada.

But the success what not yet over.
Femke du Sourire Doux was elected Best Puppy Female at the Puppy Class Females.  This was also her first show and she had never seen a ring before.  Her litter sister Fien, owned by Noud and Ineke Bos from Eindhoven (recently back from Thailand and still visibly tired), became third.  This class was exceptionally big with a total of 32 entries.

Their brother Friso, owned by René and Marie-Therese from Geldrop achieved second place in the puppy class males.  In his class also 22 frenchies were entered.  His other litter brother Fabian left the ring with a very promising qualification in the last preselection.  That many puppies from a litter with such good results, this is really worth mentioning.

Our Dafne left the ring with an excellent qualification in one of the last preselections, as did Elmo du Sourire Doux, owned by Gert and Marijke Demol from Lieshout.

For us this was really an event we think back of with a lot of pleasure.

But our luck was not yet over: we heard from Tineke Lange that Fernando and Frederic’s litter sister became definitive Canadian Champion.  Tineke and Leen: congratulations !
